|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
Apparently Samuel Atkins is the only burial in this place.
His stone is obscured in an old lilac bush on private property in the town of Warren, just off Route 20 in Herkimer County.
Though the existance of the single stone was known (and local lore about it was abundant) it wasn't until 2005 that Town Historian Cathy Hoke along with Robert Gardener, Ken Empey and Barbara Allen Empey Elmore cut away lilac limbs and excavated enough of the stone to indentify who was interred there.
