|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
There are 2 cemeteries in Monroe County with the name Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. The other one is on Pleasant Ridge Rd next to the Church of Christ near Graysville.
This cemetery is just off Ohio Route 536 on 6 Points Rd in Section 23 of Adams Twp., Monroe Co., Ohio. Take 78 east out of Woodsfield. Route 536 tees off to the right from 78. 6 Points Rd is the first right hand turn off of 536. The cemetery is right next to the road on the north side. It does not have a gate or sign identifying it's name. This cemetery is old. The ground is sunken in many, many places. A lot of the stones are leaning or have toppled over and fallen apart. Many of the slab stones are broken. The earliest readable stone is from 1849. Many of the stones from the 1850-1870s are still readable. The latest burial is from the 1970s.
This was the site for the Pleasant Ridge United Presbyterian Church. In 1960, under the weather-boarding of the church could be seen the logs of the original log church, heavy with mud between the logs. The church is no longer standing.
