|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
The Ashby graveyard has been abandoned for years. It sits on a timbered ridge in the northeast quadrant of Section 13 (T52N, R18W), near the intersection of Dove Road and Salem Avenue. It is on private land.
Nancy Meadows did a thorough inventory of the graveyard in the fall of 2011, the first such accounting since Bob and Mae Couch's inventory in the 1980s.
Author Gladys Vance Doughty visited the site in 1976 and described the place as resting in "a veritable forest of weeds, nettles, wild rose and gooseberry bushes." Nothing much has changed.
