|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
In Houston township, S36 T2N R6W 4PM, just outside the village limit of Golden, linois. Located just northwest of the junction of HWY 94 and N 2400th AVE.
Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, also known locally as "Old Trinity Cemetery", and the cemetery to the north - Immanuel Cemetery - appear to be one cemetery because they share an internal road and because of the lack of signing. They are seperate cemeteries. The boundary between the two cemeteries is an east-west line between a maintenance building on the west and a marker post on the east.
There is an signed gate, as seen in the cemetery photo, at the southest corner of Trinity Lutheran Cemetery which reads, "LUTH FRIEDHOF" and which has resulted in the common erronous naming of this cemetery as "Lutheran Friedhof Cemetery". However, "LUTH FRIEDHOF" is a German abbreviation for the English equivilent of "Lutheran Cemetery".
Trinity Cemetery was one of the original cemeteries in the area and was simply known as the Lutheran Cemetery by the German immigrants of the early 1800's - hence the signing.
