|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
Previously known as Calton Burial Ground or cemetery. This was a very large burial ground with thousands interred in it. Now only a bit of the land and markers remain. This cemetery dates back at least as far as 1787 where the bodies of Trade Unionist Martyrs were taken after being shot down during The Drygate Bridge Incident of that same year. Sadly, only 3 names remain of those martyrs and the entire cemetery has been badly vandalized until very recent efforts at preservation began.
