(Taken from the History of Grover Hill by Laurence R. Hipp, published in 1971.)
The Mt. Zion Church and the adjacent cemetery are located one mile north of Grover Hill. The church building is located in Washington Township, but the cemetery is across the road to the west and is in Latty Township. The site for the cemetery, located in the Southeast Quarter of Section 12, was deeded to the trustees of the township by Henry and Mary Daggon, September 23, 1890. The deed is recorded in Volume 52, page 41, Paulding County Record of Deeds. Mr. Daggon was well-known in Grover Hill community, having erected a large hotel known as the The Daggon House. He also operated a sawmill, and it is thought that it was situated about forty rods west of the Mt. Zion Cemetery. This cemetery is located on the south bank of Prairie Creek, and the earlier burials were made in the east end of the plat, next to the road.
