County Donegal Ireland
|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
As at 2009, this burial location is still in use. It is a Protestant burial ground near Ballintra. A short walk away can be found the old Roman Catholic burial grounds.
The Parish of Drumholm (sometimes spelled Drumhome or referred to as Ballintra) (Irish: Droim Cholm) is the second most southerly parish in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Raphoe, which covers the majority of County Donegal in northwest Ireland. The parish, just off the N15 between Donegal town and Ballyshannon, is in South Donegal and contains all the land between the large towns of Ballyshannon and Donegal Town, including the small villages of Laghey, Rossnowlagh, the hamlet of Bridgetown. and Ballintra (Irish: Baile an tSratha)
A useful book is "Tracing Your Donegal Ancestors" by Helen Meehan and Godrey Duffy. (text by Geoffrey Gillon)
