Cemetery notes and/or description:
The Crematorium, which is situated in Sutton Road to the north of Southend-on-Sea, was opened in 1953. (As a crematorium, there are no traditional burials here.) It is opposite Sutton Road Cemetery.
The Garden of Remembrance originally covered five acres but was later extended to eight. It includes formal gardens, a rock garden and a sunken rose garden. The Woodland Memorial Garden was added in 1995-it occupies an acre and contains various running and still water features. (text by Geoffrey Gillon)
