From Pettigrew, Arkansas, go east on State Highway #16 for 1 ½ miles; turn right on Madison County Road #4845 and stay on #4845 for about 5 miles which will bring you to the old community of Spoke Plant. You will see the Spoke Plant School on the right in the woods. From this location at the old Spoke Plant Schoolhouse, go south on Mad. Co. Road #4845 for 1.6 miles which takes you into Johnson County. Watch for a small branch of water that crosses the County road and just after this, there will be a small road turning to the right. Follow this this road which goes around the edge of a large hayfield for about 1/2 mile and you will come to the Little Mulberry River. You must cross the river to go to the cemetery and at times the river crossing is impassable. (An excellent time to visit the Evans Cemetery is the last week of June or right after that time, because the County always fixes the crossing for the Decoration Day at Evans Cemetery which is the last Sunday in June). After you cross the River, stay to the right at the forks, and the road will go up a very, very steep and rough road. Continue for just over 1/2 mile and it will take you to the Evans Cemetery, which is on top of the hill.
