The church is old, about 1200 AD, and is still in good condition.
A late 15th Century building on the site of at least two earlier churches. Links with Oliver Cromwell, family buried in crypt (not open) and 12th C font in which he was possibly baptised.
The church is now merged with St John the Baptist and is in the centre of the town, accessible from the High Street, and facing on to the Market Square.
