This is a town-owned cemetery. It straddles Main Street.
The "Ancient Long Plain Cemetery section" is located on the west side of Main Street. It was established prior to 1700.
The "Long Plain Cemetery section" is located on the east side of Main Street. It was established circa 1800. In 1894, about 50 of the graves were moved from the "Ancient" section to this section.
The Massachusetts Historical Commission refers to this cemetery in MACRIS as ACU801.
