Cemetery is located in the SE corner of NE 1/4 Sec 4 T14N, R4E in Lincoln County, Oklahoma. Approximately three acres.
This cemetery can be reached in two ways; both require walking through overgrown fields, populated with cedar trees. Cemetery itself is in a sad state… Suggestion: seek permission for entry from current land owner.
from I-44 (Turner Turnpike) and SH-18 travel south to Econo Lodge and turn east (left) travel one block to N. Blaine Ave turn left (north). Follow Blaine to turnpike gestation employee parking lot and park. Walk south southwest approx 750 ft to cemetery.
from I-44 (Turner Turnpike) and SH-18 travel south to Econo Lodge and turn east (left) and travel one block to N. Blaine Ave. Turn right (south) on Blaine and travel to Chigger Road. Follow to end. (Might ask neighbor for permission to park) Walk approx 750 to 900 feet north northeast to cemetery.
The Chandler Cemetery (original name) Association was organized 27 Oct 1892 by the following named persons as Trustees: Frank A Niblack, James C. Fletcher, B.F. Harriman,R. E. Jenness and L. J. Kalklosch. Said trustees purchased of A. D. Wright the above described property. (From Indian Springs Chapter, DAR, Chandler, OK 21 Oct 1962) In 1972 A. D. Wright was Secretary/Treasurer of the Association had in his possession certain cemetery records now found at Lincoln County Historical Society in Chandler, OK. or the DAR transcription books at the Chandler Public Library.
