|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
The cemetery is on private lands. It is not maintained and the woods have completely grown up around it. You can still see the fence that surrounds it once you are up close. It appears to have been abandoned for over 70 years or more, judging from the size of the trees.
It is a moderate size cemetery sitting on the top of a knob. Very few stones remain in about 20% of the fenced land.
From the junction of Highway 66 (N. Main St.) and Highway 11E (Andrew Johnson Highway), south on S. Main St. through town about 1 mile. (The street winds through town)
East on Old Stage Rd. at Hamblen County Line. Cross the RR tracks and cross the creek. About 1/3 mile.
Left (North) on Nichols Rd. The road is unmarked (as of 2006), but is the first road on the left after the creek. The road dead ends at Highway 11E.
About half way to 11E (75 yards) walk 200 yards NW across the hay field to the wooded knob of a hill. It would be wise to ask permission.
