Cemetery notes and/or description:
Cedar Hill Cemetery was formerly known as East Cemetery and many African Americans were buried here. For many years the cemetery was overgrown and not maintained, but now is kept mowed. There are many old unmarked graves here, but in the last few years there have been a lot of new burials in this cemetery.
To reach Cedar Hill Cemetery, go east out of Carthage on East Chestnut Street. Cemetery is on the south side of Chestnut after you go out of Carthage.
