|Lick Run Rd|
|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
The cemetery is deeded as the Mattison Cemetery, but locals put up a sign entitled Lick Run Cemetery as the cemetery overlooks Lick Run Road and Lick Run in rural Gaines Township, Tioga County, PA. The cemetery is off the unpaved Gaines township road called Lick Run Road on a farm road trail with a right of way across private property. The cemetery is rectangular and surrounded by a fence in poor repair with planted fence row trees. It appears to receive some maintenance and families attend graves. Behind the back of the cemetery is a small, shaded stream with native brook trout, but the stream gulley does not threaten graves at this time. With the isolation, valley breeze, trees filtering sunlight, and the stream, it is truly a peaceful place for family internments. Graves range from pioneer days of Tioga County, the mid-1800s, to the present.
