The Myles Standish Burying Ground is owned by the town of Duxbury, and is the oldest maintained cemetery in the United States of America. The oldest gravestone in the cemetery belongs to Captain Jonathan Alden, and the newest gravestone belongs to Ezra Arnold.
This cemetery is referred to in the book "Vital Records of Bridgewater, Massachusetts to 1850", Published by the New England Historic Genealogical Society, as G.R.1.
