The cemetery was established on August 12, 1895, with the burial of Ottie B. Taylor, the daughter of T. E. and Florence Taylor, who died at the age of 14 months. On September 2, 1919, Wilkerson Crawford deeded farmland to Belle Abraham. The deed states that less and except 1 and 1/8 acres for the cemetery. A parcel of land, .9 acre, across the road from the Old Pleasant View M. E. Church, was located adjacent and on the east side of the cemetery. The parcel measures 160 ft. northly and 225 ft. easterly. The farm was subsequently sold to Will Crawford. He in turn sold the farm but the cemetery parcel was reserved. A Crawford heir later deeded the cemetery to Washita County.
