|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
An interesting centuries-old brick-built church. Extensively altered but still showing some very old features in the brickwork. The tower was added by the reverend Stephen Hales, at his own expense. The churchyard has been over-grown, but is now - in October 2013 - much better. The interior of this church was renovated during the curacy of Robert Borland, and looks most handsome and uplifting. It was extended twice and seats two hundred. The aisles are richly carpeted in red. The walls are lined with memorials, including that to Henry Flitcroft, and the church contains an extraordinary brass. Harry Scandrett, the First World War flying ace was married here on 22nd August, 1916.
