|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
Andrews-Cunningham Cemetery is two miles west of Verona and on the Verona-Berlin Road. There are approximately 17 unmarked graves.
Graves are from a listing copied in 1959, found in the possession of Sara Josephine Andrews at her death and from graveyard visits.
Grave yard directions:
431 North past Bit Hardison store in Berlin. First right immediately after store onto John Lunn Road. Then about two miles to the intersection of John Lunn Road with Gray Road. It looks almost as if John Lunn Road ends at a "T" intersection with Grady Road. At this intersection stay to the left (Don't turn right onto Gray Road) and about 300 yards or so beyond this intersection is a gravel road on the left that is barely noticeable. Take this to the Andrews-Cunningham graveyard which will be on the right. It is typically overgrown and the graveyard fence was taken down by the County in the 1990s.
State of Graveyard:
The county took down the fences protecting the Andrews-Cunningham cemetery several years ago [late 1990s] and didn't replace them as they promised and the farmer owning the land does not want to go to the expense of replacing the fences himself. His cows are running free over the gravestones and I'm afraid many of them are being demolished. It is believed that Susan Brindle has talked to the county without luck.
