Background: Calebee Presbyterian Church was founded 1841 as Line Creek Presbyterian Church. The name was changed in October 1842 because of the nearer proximity of Calebee Creek. Charles LeRoy Boyd (Rev C L Boyd) was appointed the first pastor in December 1842. There were sixteen original members from the Boyd, Files, Gillis, Hurston, Hurtsfield, Johnston, McGill, and Merrill families.
