At this "T" intersection, look across the road and see a new house, which is built in the field. The cemetery is up the hill directly behind this new house and it is locted in a small grove of trees. (The House was new in 2011) This tree grove was present in March 2011 and is about 200 yards up the hill behind the new house and to the left of a gas well, which is also up on that hill. This tree grove hides one of the most overgrown cemeteries I have ever seen. (Briars and Saw Grass, nettles, blown down trees, low branches, spider webs, etc.) However, in spite of all this, the remaining stones are remarkably accessible.
Although Pennsylvania law prohibits restricting access to cemeteries it will be good policy to knock on the door of the new house and request permission, before proceeding to the cemetery. In the late spring, summer and early fall months, tick and insect spray is highly recommended and because of the brush and briars, up there, if you value your legs, don't even think about short pants, sandals or flip flops …and in the winter months, you're on your own!
