FREEBORN CEMETERY ASSOCIATION - Was originally organized in June, 1872, when the grounds were laid out containing six acres, just north of the village of Freeborn, in section thirty-five, the land being donated to the project by L.G. Pierce; it is well adapted by nature for a "lasting resting place," and the natural beauty has been enhanced by the improvements, fencing, etc. The first burial here was of the remains of Mrs. E.S. Dunn, in 1858, some twelve years prior to the organization of the association.--1882 HISTORY OF FREEBORN COUNTY MINNESOTA, Page 436
