|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
This cemetery is part of what used to be the Morgan family plantation and was originally used as the burial site for the Morgan family. The first burial was on September 11, 1844 by Gilbert Morgan, a drifter and not related to the family. He died on the farm while visiting. Thirty years later the cemetery was being used as a community cemetery and was separated by a fence from the Morgan family plots.
In a survey in 1940, there were more than 100 unmarked graves in the community section but only 37 could be found in 2000 when it was surveyed again. There also are smaller stones that were found in the Morgan section in 1989 but are no longer there.
