Family cemetery in what was formerly known as Lisbon (now Garland), NC. It is referred to as Lisbon Cemetery on several death certificates and Bronson Cemetery on many family papers. It was established in 1800's and still maintained by family today.
In October 1988, five graves from the 'Spearman Cemetery' were moved to the Lisbon/Bronson cemetery to prevent them from being destroyed.
The cemetery is currently on privately owned land. It sits well back from the road in the woods. The gravestone are very old and many are broken or otherwise fragile. PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL and please do not deface the gravestones by using chalk, shaving cream or any other substance on them to get photos. Transcription information from original records are available.
From Garland take Harells Highway east for 3.9 miles and take a left on Lisbon Bridge Road #903. Follow the road for about .7 miles and take a right on W Magnolia-Lisbon Rd. From the conjuction follow the road for 100 yards. The cemetery is on the right on a dirt road for 75 yards. The cemetery is in poor condition.
