A Hebrew Cemetery
The Hebrew Benevolent Society have purchased and fenced two acres of land for a cemetery. It adjoins the private burial ground of Mr. Sanders, commonly known as the Hillside Cemetery. An avenue thirty feet wide has been laid out around the Society's ground. The location is good and when the contemplated improvements shall have been made the Hebrew Cemetery will be a delightful suburban retreat from the cares and sinfulness of the world.
Located on Angel Street near the University of Nevada, Reno.
The Hebrew Cemetery has been in use since 1878 and is still presently being used. This is the only entirely Jewish Cemetery in Northern Nevada except for the one in Virginia City.
When I came here in February of 2006, the caretaker's cottage was there on the cemetery property, as of Febraury 2010 the caretaker's cottage no longer exists.
