Lett Cemetery is located in Sodus, Berrien County Michigan on Lett Road which is off Pipestone Road, between Sodus and Eau Claire. If traveling east along Pipestone Rd. from Sodus, turn right on Lett Road, the cemetery is abt 7/10ths of a mile on the west side of the road.
It is in good condition, maintained by Sodus Twp.
When I started the Lett Cemetery project it was 2002. I found a very small list (about 25 names) of burials on note paper from one of the past sextons, the late Mr. Ward Collins. I photographed the headstones, researched death records and spoke with people living in the area to compile the current list of about 130 burials, 32 have identifiable headstones and those pictures have been uploaded here at Find A Grave. There are twelve (12) unreadable markers in this cemetery.
So far, all persons buried in the cemetery are African American descent. The term Mulatto is used here when it was found in the actual death record.
I have added some obituaries and death notices and will continue to do so as time allows.
Please, read my plea under Mr. Hudson Brown Jr., where I speak of my friend who hopes to reunite with any of her father's remaining family.
Sincerely, Brenda Reynolds Sears
