Cemetery notes and/or description:
Turn north off of Highway 54 onto 125th Road, also known as Highway 94, and cross the railroad tracks. A small city park is located on the east side of the road. At the north edge of this park, turn east on a dirt road and travel about a 1/4 of a mile. The cemetery is on the south side of the road. Barnes family members claim that William and Eva Barnes (buried here) donated the land to the town to be used for this cemetery. The 1916 Ford County Land Plat Book seems to confirm that claim as it shows W. B. Barnes as the owner of the propery presently occupied by Kingsdown Cemetery.

A 1985 cemetery book entitled, "Abandoned and Semi-active Cemeteries of Kansas, Vol 2," pg. 215, by Don L. Ford, lists this cemetery as Kingsdown Cemetery and states that it has many stones or graves that are unmarked. Most locals know the cemetery by that name, but a few in the area also know it as Sodville Cemetery. Over a period of time, several graves at Kingsdown Cemetery have been moved to the nearby Bucklin, Kansas cemetery.
