The town of El Dorado was originally known as Mud Springs and thus the cemetery was known as Mud Springs Cemetery originally. It is a pioneer cemetery dating back to the gold rush days. A number of graves contain unknown individuals. Their identity lost to the future. A cemetery association maintains the cemetery. |
