Cemetery notes and/or description:

To locate from Highway 91 go to firth, Idaho, then turn east on Cemetery Road for about 1/2 mile. The cemetery is at the end of the road. The first burial in what is now the Firth Cemetery was the infant daughter of William Malden Dye and Julia Adelaide Child Dye. At that time there was no definite burial place so they buried their daughter on the higher land of the north and central part of their homestead. Later others buried their loved ones there also and it became known as the Dye cemetery. This elevated acreage of land was later plotted as a recognized burial place, owned by William M. Dye, but with no provisions for the care of the graves except that which could be given by the individual families who had buried loved ones there. The Basalt-Goshen-Firth Cemetery Maintenance District was organized the 11th day of September 1934 and cares for the cemetery to this day. In 1935 the cemetery was named the Firth Cemetery.
