|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
Memory Gardens, begun in 1940, consists of 24 landscaped gardens covering 100 developed acres with an additional 100 undeveloped acres. It includes the highest point in Colonie with a view of the Helderberg and Taconic mountain ranges. Memory Gardens has fountains, statues, a stone chapel, carillon bells in a tower as well as two mausoleums, and numerous cremation niches. It is a Not-For-Profit Corporation owned and operated by its lot owners , allowing only flat bronze memorials to mark gravesites. Some of the markers have the lot and space information on the bottom left corner. There is an online genealogy search, which contains most of the memorials along with their location.
