Cemetery notes and/or description:
The Howell Cemetery consists of an acre of land, which originally belonged to Isaac Howell. Isaac brought his family from North Carolina and obtained land through the 1827 and 1832 land lotteries. He owned and operated the Howell-Green ferry, one of the 200 ferries providing access to Atlanta across the Chattahoochee River. The Howell family was one of the pioneering families who helped settle the land west of the Chattahoochee River in Campbell (now Cobb) County.

Through the late 1990's, Howell descendents gathered on the second Saturday in August each year to clean the grounds. Since the turn of the century, however, there has not been a reunion of this kind.

Directions from I-20:
(1) Traveling west on I-20 from Atlanta, take Exit 47 towards Six Flags Over Georgia Amusement Park. Turn right onto Six Flags Parkway S.W. Go about 2 miles. Turn right onto Queensferry Drive. There is a church on the corner. The cemetery will be on your right directly behind the church; it is fenced and the entrance is on the northern end of the cemetery.
(2) Traveling east on I-20 from Douglas County, take Exit 46A. Bear right. Take the first left onto Service Road. The signs will be for Six Flags Over Georgia. Turn left onto Six Flags Parkway at the amusement park. Go about two miles. Turn left onto Queensferry Road. The cemetery will be on your right directly behind the church.

Directions from Mableton Parkway:
Just west of the Chattahoochee River on Mableton Parkway, you will come to the intersection of Queensferry Drive (south) and Hunnicut Road (north). Turn south onto Queensferry Drive. The cemetery will be on your left just passed the trucking company.
