|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
The Old St. John's Burying Ground connected with St. John's Chapel of the Trinity which was situated between Hudson, Leroy and Clarkson Streets. The space is now James J. Walker Park. Near the end of the 19th century the burying ground was taken by the city for a public park. After a careless record of the inscriptions had been made, the old stones were buried in place and few of the 10,000 occupants were moved. The only stone remaining is one dedicated to three firemen who gave their lives in the line of duty over 150 years ago.
