|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
The Wilson-Uzzle Family Cemetery is south of Wilsonís Mills on the east side of Swift Creek Road. It is well maintained. The Town of Wilson's Mills, founded in 1868, was named for this family and its large millwork operation launched by John Marshall Wilson who came from Warrenton, Warren County, NC. Their family roots in North Carolina date back to at least 1693. The town of Wilson's Mills was first charted in 1927, but surrendered its charter in 1971, and was re-chartered by the state in 1995. In 2014, the townís population was reported as 2,277 by the US Census Bureau.
NOTE: Do not confuse with the Wilsons Mills Community Cemetery which is north of Wilsonís Mills on Fire Department Road (SR 1908). Although the Wilson-Uzzle family cemetery is occasionally called "Wilsonís Mills Cemetery," it is not the same as the Wilsonís Mills Community Cemetery.
