The earliest known burials at the Methodist Cemetery with existing headstones are James Rice and Luther Bunnel in 1851. The cemetery is still active although the church no longer exists. There are about 300 known burials in the about 1.5 acre parcel.
In 1975, the United Methodist Church placed a plaque at the old church site naming it a Historical Site, number 15.
