Byrd Griffin Cemetery
Polk County
Texas  USA

Cemetery notes and/or description:
Byrd Griffin, a native of Alabama, came to Texas with his wife, Mary Moore Griffin, settling first in Walker County, and then moving to Polk County in 1859.
Byrd Griffin purchased 120 acres of land along Menard Creek in southern Polk County on January 31, 1867, from John Moore.
This small family cemetery is located on part of Byrd's homestead, located in SE County, in woods on Menard Creek, between Yellow Branch & Morgan Walters. Byrd died in 1880 and was buried here. His wife, Mary, married Mr. E. Gray on Oct. 28, 1896. At her death in 1925, she was buried beside Byrd.
None of the graves in this small cemetery have markers.
