Martz Cemetery is located on the east side of Indiana Highway 59, just south of Clay City, Clay County, Indiana. It was also once known as the Middlebury Cemetery.
"The cemetery was laid out by Thomas Gillaspie, and is said to have been the first place consecrated to the burial of the dead in Clay County." From: History of the Counties of Clay and Owen by Charles Blanchard, 1884, page 191.
