|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
The Elmbank/Fifth Line Cemetery opened in 1833 serving many of the earliest Catholic settlers residing in rural areas to the northeast of Toronto. Since its closing in 1939, Pearson Airport had entirely surrounded this cemetery. It finally was decided to relocate this cemetery to make room for an additional runway at the airport.
The Elmbank Cemetery was fully relocated to the Assumption Cemetery in Mississauga by October 2001.
