|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
This cemetery was once known as the Mound City Cemetery.
It contains the Mound City Soldiers' Lot (located in Lots 262 and 263), which was set aside for the burial of soldiers killed in action during the Civil War. The care of the lot was officially deeded to the Federal Government in 1874. While still part of Woodland Cemetery, the Soldier's Lot is maintained by the Veterans Administration.
