|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
PHOTOS NOW ON FAG SUPPOSEDLY SHOW BOTH THE OLD AND ALCOVY CEMETERY.
The first three photos are as it supposedly looked in 2000 and the two out of sight are today's view.
Alcovy Cemetery is located 1 and 1/2 miles southwest of Bold Springs in land lot 319, 5th District at the intersection of Jack Pittman Rd. and Loth Wages Rd.
The cemetery was surveyed on 17 April 2000, and is recorded in the book "Walton County Georgia Cemeteries, (West)" complied by "East Georgia Genealogical Society" and published in 2002.
Quote from the book.
There are approximately 40-50 uninscribed rock markers scattered randomly throughout the cemetery which are not itemized in the survey due to their large number and confusing arrangements. It is thought that this cemetery may have originated with the Alcovia Presbyterian Church begun in this area in 1823; for more information see "Wayfarers in Walton" page 389.
