Cemetery notes and/or description:
This cemetery is no longer in existance. I have been trying for awhile to find it's exact location. It was mentioned when Holy Cross closed the remains were moved to St. Thomas Cemetery, and when St. Thomas closed those remains were moved to Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery. I called Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery on March 25, 2010, and the secretary told me the two people I inquired about were not buried there. So I'm not sure where these people ended up at.
William Price was the first person buried in the Holy Cross Cemetery on Sunday, November 24, 1907. Seven year old Carl Sowash, son of Mr. and Mrs. Otis C. Sowash was the second person to be buried here on December 3rd, 1907. The last burial took place in 1918.

GARBAGE

North of the race track lies the old Sparks Catholic Cemetery. Situated on a level piece of ground which overlooks the entire valley, the plot at one time was in a good way of being one of the most beautiful in Nevada. But, the chance has practically gone forever and all because of garbage.

Garbage to the right of the graves; rubbish to the left of them and tin cans on top of them. That is the situation exactly as it stands today.

The fence which surrounded the cemetery is gone. Burning rubbish took it. The tall gate posts which marked what was once the entrance now are adorned with old automobile tires. The cross which stands in the center of the plot is not defaced yet.
