|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
a.k. a. Potter's Field in Section D Diamond Grove Cemetery started burials in the latter part of 1867. Lots 380 to 456 in Section D, on the extreme south edge of Diamond Grove were set aside as Potter's Field, with single grave lots being from 457 to 479.
Lots 380 and 381 were used as the road entrance on the south side of the cemetery.
State Hospital Patients were buried in lots 382 to ?.
The list came from records in the City Clerk's office, written in the back of a book. Since there is no further information available anywhere for these people, and no tombstone markings of any kind, except bare ground, there is no need for any person finding a relative here making further inquiry in Morgan County.
How wonderful it would be if family researchers finding
ancestors in one of these lists or in the lists for Section D of Diamond Grove Cemetery would finally mark the
resting places of these forgotten souls.
