Church Cemetery History: The area where the Stanleys lived on Snow Creek was called Stanley Community and later called Stanley Cemetery. There is a beautiful old Stanley Family Cemetery now located at Open Door Baptist Church. It was the wish of Novella Stanley (Reverend Barlow's 4th cousin) that a church be built next to the old Stanley Family Cemetery. Novella is buried at Union Cross Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, 2034 Twin Oaks Road (SR 1110) at the corner of Dobbins Mill Road (SR 1122), Dobson, Surry County, North Carolina. She took on this task and raised the money to build the church between 1967 and 1970. The first minister of the Open Door Baptist Church was Reverend Robert Barlow Stanley (son of Prather Coy "Gabe" Stanley and Olga Elizabeth Marion Stanley). Other ministers have been Reverend Don Stanley, Reverend Allen Norman and Reverend Clifford White.
Location: Open Door Church Road, Fairview, Surry County, North Carolina.
