|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
ALL STONES HAVE BEEN ACCOUNTED FOR. IF YOU DO NOT SEE A STONE ON THE GRAVE THEN THERE ISN'T ONE. THERE ARE AT LEAST 30-40 GRAVES MARKED WITH STUBS OF FIELDSTONES.
The person who entered Mary Bolick Holler and her husband have entered erroneously. No Holler's are buried here with a stone like the one shown on Andrew Holler's memorial.
Cemetery is in the woods, but very close to the road on the west/north side of Spencer Rd NE between 3rd Ave Dr NE and 4th Ave Ln NE. The land was originally owned by Johann Adam Bolick and his wife Anna Christina. It is believed it is our original family cemetery. There are many unreadable tombstones.
On Interstate 40 coming from Asheville, get off at the Fairgrove Church Road exit, turn left on Fairgrove Church Road, go as far as you can go to a "T" intersection and turn left, turn right on Spencer Road. Go to the Superior Elastic Co on the left (abt 1/2 mile) and park in the parking lot. You will have to walk down the hill on the left. There will be a large gate, climb over the gate and head towards the right, you will find the cemetery in the trees. You can't see the cemetery from the road.
October, 2006 a group of Bolch/Bolick descendants of Johann Adam Bolch/Bolick SR and Anna Christina gathered to clean the family cemetery located near Lyle's Creek. The cemetery is on land owned by the Superior Elastic Co and is located on Spencer Road between Springs Road and Hwy 70A, Hickory, NC.
On Saturday, October 20th, 2007 we did a dedication in this cemetery for the three sons of Solomon and Elizabeth Bolch for their civil war service.
