In 1856, a meeting was held at John Bye's, Lot 10, Conc 8 to arrange the purchace of land for a Cemetery & Church. The first burial in the new Cemetery was Angus McEachern.
In 1896,lots were sold for 25 cents. In 1926, perpetual care was authorized but not made compulsory until the 1930's.
In 1933, new Cemetery gates were donated by Alex Webster in memory of his wife Kate McEachern. The pillars were tapestry brick & the artistic arch was made by Sam Robb. The gates are still in use but the pillars have been replaced.
