Cemetery notes and/or description: Hillcrest Cemetery is located on the north side of Highway #7. .5km east of Islington Avenue, in the town of Woodbridge. Originally Lot 6, Concession 7, Vaughan Township. Hillcrest Cemetery Company was formed in 1916. The first shareholders were Fred C.W. Scott, Joseph J. Watson, David Norton, Ebenezer Smith, Frederick Cousins, James Kneedwell, William Watson and John G. Whitmore. It compromises 6 acres. A vault was originally build, but no longer exists. In 1966 descendants of the original shareholders still held shares in the company, and placed the cemetery in the hands of W.R. and R.E. Scott Funeral directors, which still exists on Kipling Avenue, just north of Highway 7, today. A new executive was formed in 1967, when a group of Woodbridge men purchased the shares. The cemetery is administered by Riverside Cemetery and Crematorium, which is part of Parklawn Limited Partnership.
