In 1803, the old Baptist Church, originally a log structure, was erected on a two acre plot of land. The log structure was replaced by first a frame and then a brick structure. Before the Civil War, the congregation divided on the mission issue and the members gradually joined other churches. Sometime after 1860 the brick church was demolished, leaving only the cemetery. Later, the cemetery was deeded to Harrison Township. Harrison Township now maintains the cemetery.
