|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
‘Kentucky State Institute for the Education of Feebleminded Children and Idiots' was established by the legislature in 1860, and was more commonly known as the 'Kentucky Institute for Feeble-minded Children'. The name was changed to the 'Kentucky Training Home' in 1945; and in 1963 it became the 'Frankfort State Hospital & School'.
The cemetery is in Frankfort on Glen's Creek Road near where it intersects with Cold Harbor Road and is across the street from Frankfort Cemetery. It is surrounded by an iron fence supported with brick ‘posts'. Most of the graves are marked with identical flat markers engraved with:
Frankfort State Hospital and School'
There are a few (only 3-4) tombstones no doubt placed by family members. The markers in the farthest rows from the road include names and dates.
