Cemetery notes and/or description: Entrances at Hüfnerweg 39 Buckower Damm 148 and Leonberger Ring 54
12341 Berlin GERMANY
The Parkfriedhof Neukölln is a vast inner-city, non-denominational cemetery, located in the southern part of Berlin. The main cemetery usually sees coffin burials, where the Parkfriedhof Neukölln (Urnenhain) is reserved for urne burials only. Both are run by the city of Berlin.
PLEASE NOTE: Unlike American cemeteries, due to lack of space, the "final" resting places in Germany are not eternal. The plots are usually leased (subscribed to) for a certain period of time (15-25 years). After that it depends on the descendants (or the community if it's a famous person) to finance another period of 15-25 years. If no family is left, and the grave is old, the plot is cleaned and will be used for another burial.
