|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
Swimley (aka Swimelar) Cemetery is a rural family cemetery. It is deeded as the Swimley Cemetery, named after long time land owners in the area, but some have called it Swimelar Cemetery named after some Swimelar family buried there. Burials range from the late 1870s to the present. Unmarked burials are suspect from ground depressions. Some graves are marked with less permanent markers like homemade crosses. The cemetery is maintained by locals but some graves are at risk due to ground hog dens. The cemetery is located along a rural dirt road with easy access, but there is no parking or road into the cemetery, so you must park on the road with flashers enabled.
