|Cemetery notes and/or description:|
Miller Cemetery is a very old cemetery near Harmony Grove east of Joplin, Mo. This cemetery is no longer used but was cleaned up of brush and weeds during spring 2012. There could be around 800 burials in here, but many are unmarked. At one time a street car line ran near here along Turkey creek. The graves can be clearly seen now that the brush is gone.
To get to the cemetery, go east on 7th street, also called business loop 44 and 66 from Joplin all the way out to Kenser road. Turn south on Kenser and go a short distance. A lane leads west past a house and up to the cemetery. There is a small green sign at the entrance to the access road and another sign has been erected at the entrance into the cemetery.
A big thanks to all the hard work of individuals that cleaned up this cemetery. Miller Cemetery has been cleaned up as of June 2012 and is in good condition. Brush and scrub trees have been removed and the graves are now easier to see. A sign has been put up at the entrance to the cemetery.
